ST. GEORGE’S LENT COURSE 2010.

This year our devotional and study focus in Lent will be multifaceted to try to reach as many members of the congregation as possible. On Sundays, starting from the 14th February we will run a Lenten Sermon Series, which you will be able to find posted on the internet for people to follow. Then on Wednesday evenings during Lent we will run, in addition, a Lent Group, that will meet in the Library at St George's, for those who have the time to take things further. For this Lent Group we will use a booklet: Lent  and Holy Week, Bridges to Contemplative Living with Thomas Merton, eds. J. Montaldo & Robert Toth. Ten copies of this booklet will be on sale at our Bookstall, but if you cannot buy it there you can find it by clicking here. In addition, we recommend as complementary reading, for those who have the time, Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh (Bloom), Coming Closer to Christ. Confession and Forgiveness (SPCK 2009). Copies of this book are also available from our Bookstall.

  • A set of Stations of the Cross by artist Elizabeth Hinton Simoneau will also be used at St George's during Lent (Read More)
