In Europe every chaplaincy is self-supporting and receives no financial support from the Church of England in the UK.
So, each year we raise vital funds for the work of St George's by holding a Christmas Bazaar on the Saturday before Advent Sunday - in 2024 that's going to be 30th November.
There's always fresh baking and a groaning table of groceries from the UK that are now harder to find in Paris alongside homemade jams, jellies and a really special stall of goodies from Normandy. Christmas flowers, goods from Madagascar and Ukraine vie for space with the other stalls full of Christmas present ideas, christmas crackers or just irresistable 'must-haves'!
Your donations for the Bazaar are welcome all year round, especially goods and clothes in good condition, gifts for the gift stall, children's toys and clothes in good condition. We also have a tombola with marvellous prizes. Tickets go on sale around the half-term in October.
Here are some pictures of a past Christmas Bazaar and the happy band of volunteers that make the Bazaar such fun!
